DunesBleues – Elée Ferré

"Blue Dunes" is an invitation to read the world's landscapes as so many inner paths. Each ripple, each variation becomes an echo of our own experiences, the trajectories we take, the detours we choose or endure. A work that, through its apparent simplicity, opens up an infinite field of reflection on nature and the course of our lives.

EnCarré Collection:
Tracing nature, its profound unevenness, the kind we feel. Imagining the folds, the wrinkles, the marks we tread upon throughout our lives. What propels us, what holds us back, what delights us. The many paths we can take, the possible changes of course: the adventure of a lifetime. Elée Ferrée

Review of "DunesBleues" by Elée Ferré

Blue ink on recycled paper – 25 x 25 cm
EnCarré Collection

With "DunesBleues," Elée Ferré continues his exploration of line as a sensitive language, a writing of landscape as much as of emotion. In this small square format, the artist condenses a vision of relief, of uneven terrain, and of the imprints left by time and the movements of living things.

The blue ink, applied with a pen, shapes undulations, folds, and wrinkles that evoke the natural terrain and the human journey. The eye navigates between crests and hollows, searching for paths, possible directions. The work does not impose a precise itinerary, but leaves room for a multitude of interpretations, as if transcribing the shifting map of a life.

The repetition of the gesture, the precision of the lines, and the economy of means reflect a contemplative approach. It is not simply a matter of representing a topography, but of feeling its tensions, its slowings, its accelerations. Each line seems to carry a memory, that of a step, a breath, a hesitation, or a surge of energy.

The choice of recycled paper situates this work within an approach rooted in the material, where the support fully contributes to the final aesthetic. It lends a subtle texture to the whole, a physical grounding that contrasts with the lightness of the lines.
