Steliana Mocanu
Steliana Mocanu was born and studied art at the Bucharest School of Fine Arts. Her work presents a pictorial universe perfectly aligned with her spiritually imbued thought.
It was only natural that she gravitated towards an abstract painting , following in the footsteps of the lyrical movement. This artistic movement emerged in France around 1947. Lyrical abstraction refers to a tendency to express emotion through ethereal compositions. This style differs from so-called geometric abstraction.
From her native Romania, Steliana Mocanu retained the vibrant energy of her early career.
Her painting is sincere and warm, yet bold and demanding. She creates compositions through the balance of forms and colors.
She is sensitive to the relationship between humanity and the cosmos, to that which is greater than ourselves!
