Françoise Chadelas

Françoise Chadelas is a self-taught and passionate Parisian photographer who now devotes most of her time to her art behind the lens.

After a long career as an actress, she discovered in photography the ideal medium to express her vision and communicate her ideas.

Françoise Chadelas loves to play with light, contrast, and color, using these elements to create images that invite contemplation and escapism. For her, photography is a tribute to the Earth, a way to convey the poetry and tenderness that nature inspires in her. Her works are often imbued with a dreamlike quality, where reality wavers and the image becomes a reverie. She sometimes uses the double exposure technique to add this dreamlike touch to her photographs.

Françoise works both digitally and analogically, frequently using a pinhole camera, a device that allows her to escape reality and explore more abstract dimensions.
