Kaysersberg. Alsace – Roger Bailleul

The composition of the work is perfectly balanced. Half-timbered houses, typical of Alsatian architecture, line up along a cobbled street, while green vegetation occupies much of the foreground. This contrast between architecture and nature creates a visual harmony which testifies to the close relationship between these two elements in Alsatian culture. The viewer is immediately immersed in this bucolic scene, with an aesthetic intention that makes him feel in the heart of the village.
