Kandayin, whose name is Dominique Charrière, was a child passionate about drawing and painting. It is natural that she realizes her dreams as an artist throughout her life. She explores various mediums such as gouache, oil, acrylic, pastel, and even her own “recipes”. Having spent more than seven years studying drawing and painting, including two at the Beaux-arts in Toulouse, she developed her own techniques. A watercolorist, she is also interested in other mediums such as oil painting and acrylic, pastel, etc.
Artistic approach : Like most artists, Kandayin began with a pictorial technique based on the figurative. She thus laid solid artistic foundations before imagining her own style.
His philosophy is based on a simple principle : Creating works allows us to communicate by expressing our emotions so that they are shared. But the interest of art is not simply limited to intuitive materialization. The creative process has an immemorial mystery linked to our human condition. Kandayin offers us a dive into the rich diversity of shapes and colors that helps unite us.
Her technical evolution and her choices: Kandayin turned to the pastel after exploring various mediums through the experiences she acquired, notably during her studies at the Beaux-arts in Toulouse. She currently uses the pastel medium to create her works in order to structure a personal expression of her artistic vision, between traditional motifs and abstraction.
