Analysis of the work “A l’eau la terre” by Sylvie Gedda

Sylvie Gedda , enriched by her multicultural heritage – Russian, German and Italian – lives and creates in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. His solid artistic training, acquired at the School of Fine Arts in Bordeaux, at the Sorbonne University in Paris, and at the Institut Acadomique de Paris, is clearly manifested in the finesse and sophistication of his work.

“A l'eau la terre” is distinguished by a palette of bright and harmonious colors, dominated by shades of green, purple and pink, with touches of silver which add a luminous dimension. The organic, flowing shapes seem to intertwine and blend together, creating a dynamic and balanced composition. The epoxy paste technique, applied in multiple layers, allows you to play with reflections and transparencies, giving the work remarkable visual depth.

Although Gedda's preferred medium is synthetic glass, this work demonstrates her ability to manipulate epoxy paste on wood with great mastery. Each layer of color is carefully applied to create effects of light and texture that captivate the eye. The use of epoxy paste allows light to be captured and reflected in a unique way, adding an almost three-dimensional dimension to the work.

Through her choice of colors, her layering techniques and her mastery of materials, Gedda manages to transform a small canvas into a high-quality work of art. Each element of the composition contributes to a visual harmony that recalls the beauty and complexity of nature. This work is a striking proof of Gedda's artistic skill and ingenuity.
