Critical analysis of the work “Form” by Aisté Jugilaité

In this 60×80 cm work, Aisté Jugilaité continues its exploration of the limits between abstraction and reality, this time playing on the idea of ​​form and space. This canvas offers an immersion in a dreamlike universe, where the contours dissolve and leave room for personal interpretation. “Form” is distinguished by a composition in which the material seems to be in transformation.

The center of the composition is dominated by a geometric, almost cubic shape which emerges from a mist of soft and subtle colors. This hollowed-out square in the center immediately draws the eye and creates a focal point around which the surrounding space can transform. The form, although rigid in its structure, is surrounded by a vague halo, as if it were oscillating between material presence and immaterial dissolution. This contrast between geometric rigidity and surrounding fluidity is one of the trademarks of Aisté Jugilaité, which always seeks to question the balance between the tangible and the elusive.

The hues of this work are dominated by shades of purple, pink and pale yellow, which add to the dreamy atmosphere of the composition. The colors are a pastel tone. They soften the whole with subtle gradients and contribute to the impression of a scene that is both calm and enigmatic. These colors blend into each other, creating slight transitions between light and dark, perhaps symbolizing the elusive nature of the form itself.

The work exudes an introspective depth, suggesting that the central form is not simply a geometric figure. It is a deeper symbol of the human quest to define the unknown or to grasp abstract concepts, such as time, identity or existence. The void in the center of the square could inspire what escapes us, what we seek to understand without ever really being able to reach it.
