Critical analysis of the work “Désire” by Aisté Jugilaité

The work is a poetic expression of human emotion, translated with an intense palette of warm and luminous colors. With this 50 x 60 cm composition, Aisté Jugilaité explores the essence of desire, this inner force which acts as both a drive and an aspiration, an impulse towards the unknown or towards what escapes us.

At first glance, the dominant shades of red, orange and pink stand out. These colors immediately evoke passion, energy, but also warmth and intimacy. The way these tones blend into each other creates soft, fluid transitions. It suggests a rise in intensity, an emotional whirlwind that invades the canvas. The deep red, placed in the center of the work, seems to embody the very heart of desire, its vital force, while the lighter areas, at the edges of the canvas, evoke a liberation or a projection towards a more distant horizon.

This work, although abstract, is structured by shapes that recall fragments of reality, like bursts of light or reflections.
